The gorge itself is beautiful. Make sure you do the North and South Rim Trails if you visit. I would completely skip the Stoneplace Trail & the High Bluff Loop Trail because they’re aweful. I think they must share the trail with 4x4s or something because that is what it looked like. Plus, it is completely flat and there isn’t anything to see on them except for a pretty lake at the ‘end,’ which you can drive to because there is a boat ramp right there and you can see Georgia Power’s hydroelectric plant, which isn’t pretty. Even if you want the exercise, I would tell you to just walk the North and South Rim Trails twice. Haha. Visit the gorge though because it is really beautiful.

Funny, I just drove by the gorge, twice, friday and sunday.
do you know if they have mountain bike trails there?
Yeah, they do. The Stoneplace Trail and High Bluff Loop Trail are also mountain bike trails. Honestly though, I wouldn’t do any of the trails besides the Rim trails there. The Rim trails are beautiful and everyone should see them, but the others aren’t really that great. You can’t mountain bike on the Rim trails.
so yes, but not worth the drive.
Exactly. If you go to http://www.gastateparks.org it lists all of the state parks and if you look at each parks details it will tell you which trails you can mountain bike on. There are probably trails in several of them that you can take bikes on.
Thank you sir.
You’re welcome.
Next time you are up near t-gorge you should check out Panther Creek falls (http://www.jjanthony.com/waterfalls/falls/panthercreek.html). It’s a nice little hike…
